Oliver Clay Martin Jr., 68, retired Speedway district supervisor, U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the VA Medical Center, Leestown Road. He was born November 15, 1947 in Bourbon County, son of the late Lillie Belle Frederick Clem and Oliver Clay Martin Sr., and was a member of the High Street Church of Christ. Clay is survived by five children, Jennifer (Paul) Ford, Lisa Martin, Tina (Anthony Higgins) Martin, Clay Martin, Wesley Martin; nine grandchildren, Thomas Ford, Joshua Ford, Della Terry, Shaun Terry, Nicholas Martin, Deija Clayton, Jeida Martin, Miracle Monroe, Jami Fitzgerald; a great grandchild, Mason Terry; and eight siblings, James Martin, John Martin, Jeff Martin, Larry Martin, Robert Martin, Floyd Martin, Alan Martin, and Delores Bailey. A brother, Ralph Martin, preceded him in death. A gathering of friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to one's local veteran's organization.
