Opal Mae Oder Slone, 81, North Middletown Road, widow of Thomas Hatcher Slone died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born March 19, 1929 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Emma Elizabeth Bealert Oder, attended Bourbon County schools, and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She is survived by two sisters, Lily Yazell, Anna Roe both of Paris; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by the Rev. Dan Russell with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ricky Roe, Tommy McFarland, Timmy Roe, Dean McFarland, Larry Roe, and John William Roe. Honorary bearers will be her great nephews, Kenneth Roe Jr., Calvin Roe, William Slone, Harold Smoot Jr., Paul Oder, Jerry Oder, Bob Davis, Everett Johnson, Jackie McFarland and George Robinson. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Central Baptist Church.
