Paul Douglas George Sr., 79, Millersburg, retired property manager for Kentucky Textiles, U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, widower of Betty Lee Harney George, died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at his home. He was born September 23, 1933 in Nicholas County, son of the late Robert C. George and Margaret Hunt George Florence, attended Paris High School, and was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Paul is survived by two daughters, Dottie George Kielman, Flemingsburg, Tracey George King, Millersburg; two sons, Paul Douglas George Jr., William Everett George, both of Millersburg; three grandchildren, Richie (Lori) Kielman, Mount Carmel, Michael (Amber) Kielman, Tollesboro, Whitney Kielman, Flemingsburg; three great grandchildren, Mikayla Kielman, Abby Kielman, Owen Kielman; a sister, Kay George Shumate, Paris; and a brother, Billy Clark (Ramona) George, Carlisle. He was preceded in death by a special friend, Carolyn Correll. Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, at Millersburg Cemetery by Brother David Mefford. Casket bearers will be Richie Kielman, Michael Kielman, Whitney Kielman, Cliff Shumate, Dan Short, and Bryan Short. Honorary bearers will be Wayne Browning, Ronnie Wilcoxon, David Wilcoxon, Wayne Wilcoxon, Paige Short, Danny Correll, David Correll, David Songstad, Debbie Songstad, and Penny Workman. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
