Paul Edward Sosby, 91, Houston Creek Drive, retired farmer, husband of Pearl Pridemore Sosby, died Thursday, August 12, at Bourbon Community Hospital. He was born November 1, 1918 in Nicholas County, son of the late John Milton and Bessie Hay Sosby, a member and former deacon of Ruddles Mill Christian Church, and attended Antioch Christian Church. Paul is also survived by a daughter, Paulada (Don) Hiles; a son, Edward Burden (Micki) Sosby, both of Bourbon County; a stepdaughter, Debbie (Doug) Parke, Paris; two grandchildren, James Edward (Lesley) Hiles, Madison County, Shanda Lou Sosby (Bryan) Smith, Greencastle, PA; a step granddaughter, Holli (Drew) Hatmaker, Paris; and five great grandchildren, Jakob Hiles, Sophia Hiles, Ian Hiles, Bradan Smith, and Marissa Smith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Delilah Burden Sosby; brother, Earl Sosby Sr.; sister, Virginia Sosby Arnold; and brother-in-law, Johnnie Burden. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Bob Mallory with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Earl Sosby, John Sosby, Howard Sosby, Robert Paul Sosby, David Sosby, Jackie Burden, Doug Parke, and Drew Hatmaker. Honorary bearers will be Dr. James L. Ferrell, Ronald Chanslor, Howard "Bo" Pridemore, Billy Pridemore, Wheeler Hay, Carl Hay, Ed Hay Jr., Orville Lanter, and Carl Bailey. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to one's favorite charity.
