Pauline Ferguson McCarty, 74, Windham Hill Court, retired James River Dixie Cup employee, widow of Marvin McCarty, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Hospice Care Center. She was born September 8, 1937 in Menifee County, daughter of the late Joseph Franklin and Ethel Back Ferguson, and was a graduate of Bourbon County High School. Pauline is survived by a daughter, Marlene (Walter) Hess, Paris; two sons, Michael (Kendra) McCarty, Goshen, Joseph (Regina) McCarty, Paris; four grandchildren, LeeAnn McCarty, Michael C. McCarty, Josh Abner, Mackenzie McCarty; a great granddaughter, Lily Abner; sister, Sharon Jo Taylor; brother, Vernon Eugene Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy McCarty; and a brother, Richard Ferguson. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Darrell Back and Hospice Chaplain Peter Stephens with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Michael McCarty, Michael C. McCarty, Warren Taylor, Joseph McCarty, Bob Rice, Josh Abner, and Marlene Hess. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday.
