Raymond Goebel Crump, 88, a retired masonry contractor, widower of Joanna Maher Crump, died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. He was born November 13, 1925 in Ravenna, KY, son of the late James Albert and Mary Harlow Crump. Goebel was a graduate of Paris High School, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and recipient of a Bronze Star Medal, a member of the Paris City Club, member and Past Commander of King Burley Post VFW, and was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation where he was active in the Holy Name Society. He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Lee Crump; a son, John Kevin (Bonnie) Crump; a granddaughter, Laura (Bret) Jackson; two great grandchildren, James Patrick "J.J." and Sadie Elizabeth Jackson; and an aunt, Treva Farrow. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert "Abbie", Harl "Inky", and Walter J. "Dubbie" Crump. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation by Rev. Daniel Fister with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Casket bearers will be Jack Crump, Curtis Crump, Alvin Stamper, Bret Jackson, Gayle Tipton, and Joe Aweimrin. Honorary bearers will be Cliff Crump, Phillip Crump, Dr. Jeff Green, Dr. Oscar Perez, Eddie Woods, Clarence Ayers, Arthur Wagoner Jr., Gil Castro, Ricky Baber, Donnie Baber Jr., and Jeff Baber. The family expresses their gratitude to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home, Bourbon Heights Nursing Home, Dr. Jeff Green, Bourbon Community Hospital, and all of Goebel's past golfing buddies. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Catholic Church of the Annunciation Organ Fund.
