Robert Allen Liter, 68, owner of Maplewood Farm and retired owner of Bourbon Packing Plant, husband of Lila Ruth Narvell Liter, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Saint Joseph Hospital. He was born January 2, 1947 in Paris, son of the late James Wallace and Mildred Marie Owsley Liter. Robert was a 1965 graduate of Paris High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He was a Viet Nam era veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member and past president of the Central Kentucky Corvette Club. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his mother-in-law, Sonia Narvell; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Jefferson Liter, Julie (John) Maruskin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his father-in-law, Tom Narvell; and two brothers, James L. and Billy Liter. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, August 29, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Whit Criswell with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Phil McCauley, John Maruskin, Will Southerland, Jim Means, Robert C. Sturgeon, Ronnie Sims, and Kenny Dungan. Honorary bearers will be Tim Sosby, Carlos Sloan, Dr. Michael Wall, Dr. Nathan L. Moore, Dr. C. Ray Young, and members of the Paris High School Class of 1965. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
