Robert Emanuel Owens, 90, Fords Mill Road, realtor for over 50 years, U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II, husband of Peggy Oliver Owens, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Bourbon Community Hospital. He was born September 16, 1916 in Rockcastle County, son of the late Jasper and Mackie Burdette Owens. Mr. Owens was a graduate of Ruddles Mill School, a member of Paris Lodge #2, F&AM, and a deacon of First Baptist Church. Bob is also survived by two sons, Phil (Micki) Owens, Paris, Norman (Twylia) Owens, Lexington; three grandchildren, Lukas Owens, Mackie Owens, Will Owens; two sisters, Eva Garrison, Paris, Ruby Cooper, Cincinnati, OH; and special family, the Rocky Amburgey family. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 31, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Don Reed and Rev. Drew Martin with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Frank Whitney, Curtis Cole, Ron Burden, Bobby Sturgeon, Timmy Sosby, and Dr. Michael Wall. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
