Roger Mason Chowning, 60, Summit Drive, retired IBM employee, US Air Force veteran, husband of Nancy Dennis Chowning, died Thursday, February 28, 2008. He was born July 27, 1947 in Scott County, son of Aileen Marshall Chowning, Georgetown, and the late James Mason Chowning, a graduate of Scott County High School, and was a member of the North Middletown Church of the Nazarene. Roger is also survived by two sons, James Anthony (Julie) Chowning, Cincinnati, Gregory Mason (Nikki) Chowning, Georgetown; and four grandchildren, Gregory Dalton, Mason Anderson, James Harlan, and Eden Lorraine Chowning. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Carl Baker with interment in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Wayne Dennis, Bill Knippenberg, Ken Higdon, William Rogers, J.B. Ritchie, and Mike Marshall. Honorary bearers will be Tina Napier, Marie Jones, Gusta Larson, Chrissy Perry, Angie Little, and the rest of the staff of C Wing, Winchester Centre for Health and Rehabilitation. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice East.
