Roger Dean Williamson, 74, Meadowview Drive, husband of Mollie Music Williamson, employee of Ken's New Market, U.S. Army veteran, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at his home. He was born July 13, 1936 in Paintsville, KY, son of the late Samuel and Merinda Walters Williamson, a graduate of Oil Springs High School in Johnson County, and was a member of Chapter 12, D.A.V. and Fayette Chapel United Baptist Church. Roger is also survived by three sons, Gregory Dean (Sherry) Williamson, Brian (Susie) Williamson, Bruce (Trish) Williamson, all of Paris; eight grandchildren, Amber Lynn Williamson, Amber Nicole Garrison, Samantha Glenne Williamson, Kaitlyn Lane Williamson, Hank Dean Williamson, Kelly Elizabeth Williamson, Brianna Jo Williamson, Brent Allen Williamson; two sisters, Elizabeth (Emery) Scarberry, Cleveland, OH, Kay (Melvin) Rucker, Florida; and a brother, Wallace (Gwen) Williamson, Paintsville. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Fayette Chapel United Baptist Church in Bedford Acres subdivision by Bro. Cecil Murray Jr. with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Lee Sparks, Bill O'Bryan, Don Shields, George Wigglesworth, John Beaton, Bill Hafley, and Brent Hobbs. Members of D.A.V. Chapter 12 will serve as honorary bearers. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to D.A.V. Chapter 12 or Hosice of the Bluegrass.
