Ronald Emerson Thornberry, 61, Grimes-Batterton Road, a farmer husband of Wanda Rice Thornberry, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at his home. He was born March 30, 1950 in Paris, son of the late Dewey P. and Ivory Gibson Thornberry and was a graduate of Bourbon County High School. He is also survived by four sons, Wesley and Tracie Angel, Paris, Jerry Lee and Tracie Angel, Scott County, Jason and Regina Thornberry, Paris, Joe Browning, Bourbon County; six grandchildren, Travis Angel, Nicholas Angel, Adria Angel, Molly Thornberry, Hannah Angel, Hailey Thornberry; a brother, David (Pat) Thornberry, Bourbon County; three sisters, Loverta (Dan) Hall, Loretta Lare, both of Alliance, OH, Connie (Arnold) Ball, Carlisle; 36 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Constance Thornberry; five brothers, Elmo, Edward, Earl, Edsell, Eugene Thornberry; a nephew, Danny Thornberry; and three great nephews, Mark Allen Lare, Matthew Keffer, and Carson Ball. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Bishop John Plummer and Jerome Harney with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Gary Pontius, Rennie Thornberry, Drew Thornberry, David Thornberry, Steve Ball, Larry Thornberry, Darrel Thornberry, and Daniel Thornberry. Honorary bearers will be his nephews. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
