Ruth W. Ball, 81, Carlisle, widow of Arnold Hutson Ball, I, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Nicholas County Hospital. She was born August 4, 1926 in Nicholas County, daughter of the late Russell and Nora Stone Wills. Mrs. Ball is survived by a son, Arnold H. (Connie) Ball, II; a grandson, Steve (Stacey) Ball; two great grandsons, Colin H. and Connor J. Ball; and a brother, R.S. (Kay) Wills, all of Carlisle. She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Carson Hutson Ball. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with interment in the Carlisle Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Steve Ball, Colin Ball, David Thornberry, Ronnie Thornberry, Jason Thornberry, and Ronnie Eads. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday.
