Ruth E. Woodward, 91, a retired JC Penney sales clerk, widow of John G. Woodward, died Monday, December 21, 2009 at Bourbon Heights, Inc. She was born April 29, 1918 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late James and Rebecca Gray Eads, a graduate of North Middletown High School, and was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis (Gary) Reed, Paris, Linda (Wilburn) McCarty, Lexington, Rebecca (Gene) Roy, Paris; two grandchildren, Karen (Dan) Donovan, Samantha Roy, both of Paris; and three great grandchildren, Danielle Donovan, Karley Donovan, and Katelyn Donovan. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John McCarty; and four brothers, John, George, Willis, and James Eads. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Jeff Bell with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be J.B. Eads, Joe Larry Eads, Ronnie Eads, Richard Eads, George Eads, Jr., Tommy Eads, Carl Eads, and Bobby Eads. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church or Bourbon Heights Activity Fund.
