Sallie Stewart Turpin, 93, South Main Street, widow of Elmer R. Turpin, died Thursday, August 16, 2007. She was born January 13, 1914 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late Alfred and Sallie Johnson Stewart, attended Bourbon County schools, and was a member of the First Church of God. Mrs. Turpin is survived by a daughter, Mildred (Forrest) Thomas, Leesburg, FL; a son, Thomas R. (Jackie) Turpin, San Diego, CA; a sister, Annabelle Worthington, Paris; a grandson, Jeff Livengood, Paris; three great grandchildren, Ellen, Annie, and Ivy Livengood; a great, great grandson, Trevor Michael Evans, Nicholas County; two step grandsons, Steven Thomas, Paris, Barry Thomas, Canton, GA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jon David Turpin; four sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Timothy W. Pierce and Rev. Sylvester Sanders with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jeff Livengood, Steven Thomas, Myron Fryer, Gary Brooks, E. J. Caswell, and David Mefford. Honorary bearers will be Mary Ann Shriver, Charlie Fryman, Rev. Charles Shrewsbury, Sharon Patterson, and the Unit 1 Staff of Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
