Thomas Eugene Hopkins, 77, retired farmer and welder, died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at his home. He was born February 25, 1933 in North Middletown, son of the late Tommy and Mabel Tevis Hopkins and was a member of River of Life Ministries. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Frances Fay Hopkins; two sons, Thomas Eugene Hopkins, Jr., Larry Wayne Hopkins, both of Paris; two brothers, James (Mary) Hopkins, Paris, Ernest (Eva) Hopkins, Bourbon County; and an aunt, Margaret Maynard. He was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Helphenstine; and a brother, Jackie Lee Hopkins. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 6, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Krista Hampton with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Gene Elam, David Helphenstine, Craig P. O'Fay, Jimmy Hopkins, John Black, and Donnie Hopkins. Honorary bearers will be Raymond VanHook and Ken Moore. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
