Thomas Jefferson of Paris, Kentucky died at the age of 84 on October 2, 2014 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. He was born June 4, 1930 in Nicholas County, son of the late Dave Jefferson and Mary Lacy Gaunce Jefferson. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Hazel Cline Jefferson; one son, Tommy Jefferson of Lexington; two stepsons, Tommy (Debbie) Hatton, David (Vicky) Hatton; three brothers, Gerald Richard Jefferson of Lexington, Willie Clay Jefferson, Edward Hatler Jefferson, both of Carlisle; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Loretta Jefferson, Anna Marie Jefferson, Janetta Frances Jefferson; and his stepmother, Louellan Sword Jefferson. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Steven Scherer with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ben Jefferson, Willie Jefferson, Tony Jefferson, Timothy Jefferson, Jerry Watkins, Jeremy Tubbs, and Larry Tubbs. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
