Virginia Walling Hughes, 95, retired waitress at Jerry's Restaurant and former seamstress at Hansley Mill, widow of Ralph Lee Hughes, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born December 27, 1919 in Shelby County, daughter of the late Ollie and Mary Viola Hopper Walling. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Shamrock Homemakers and Calvary Christian Church. She is survived by a son, Edward S. (Ann) Fitzpatrick, Paris; two granddaughters, Sherri (Bradley) Toadvine, Julie (Jeff) Holzhause, both of Paris; four great grandchildren, Laura (Sal) Iweimrin, Battle Creek, Michigan, Scott (Stefanie) Toadvine, Paris, Nicholas (Katie) Holzhause, Paris, Brittany Holzhause, Paris; four great, great grandchildren, Sal Iweimrin, Sydney Iweimrin, Robbie Toadvine, Morgan Toadvine; and a brother, Jimmy Walling, Lexington. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Betty Buchanan, Thelma Henson, Sue Sparks, Ruth Curtis, Bessie Hurley; and two brothers, Kenneth and Clarence Walling. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Steven Scherer with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Tim Buchanan, Jerry Walling, Ronnie Henson, Donnie Sparks, Ray Heflin, and Jeff Walling. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Calvary Christian Church.
