Wallace Ward Taylor, 88, Thatchers Mill Road, retired farmer and carpenter, US Marine Corps veteran of World War II, husband of Barbara Turner Taylor, died Thursday, May 13, 2010. He was born April 3, 1922 in Bourbon County, son of the late Bennett Dana and Fannie Hughes Taylor, attended North Middletown School and was a 33 year member of the North Middletown Christian Church and a Kentucky Colonel. Wallace is also survived by two sons, Don (Patricia) Taylor, Bourbon County, Rodney (Sheila) Taylor, Nicholas County; two grandsons, Matthew Taylor, Nathan Taylor; and a sister, Thelma Reid, Bourbon County. He was preceded in death by a son, Wallace Ward Taylor, Jr. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Bob Silvanik with burial in the North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Chris Filty, John Hurter, Wayne Campbell, James Virgil Reid, Danny Reid, and Bill Dickson. Honorary bearers will be Mark Long, Jerry Riddell, John L. Rainey, Betty Allman, Charlie Meng, Bill Mason, Vernleigh Morton, Bill Rainey, and Carl Cook. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday.
