Walter Edward Watson Jr., 90, retired salvage foreman for Blue Grass Army Depot at Avon, U.S. Army veteran of World War II, died Thursday, July 23, at Saint Joseph Hospital. He was born September 1, 1924 in Clinton, Illinois, son of the late Walter Edward and Goldie Miller Watson. Mr. Watson is survived by his wife of 67 years, Veva Webb Watson, Paris; three daughters, Sherri (Raymond) Ellsworth, Sunderland, MA, Cathy Watson, Lexington, Kristy (Ron) Bruner, Taylorsville; three grandchildren, Capt. Richard Ellsworth (U.S. Army), Capt. Nathan Ellsworth (U.S. Air Force), Kelsey Bruner; four great grandchildren, Westen, Eileen, William, and Evelyn Ellsworth; and a sister, Wilma Sympson, Clinton, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Ray Ellsworth, Richard Ellsworth, Nathan Ellsworth, Ron Bruner, Michael Watts, and John Watts. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
