Wesley Earl Bowen Sr., 83, Houston Creek Drive, a retired police officer for the Erie County (NY) Sheriff Department, U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, husband of Kathleen Bridgeman Bowen, died Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Bourbon Community Hospital. He was born October 21, 1921 in Ridgeway, NY, son of the late Earl and Doris Jackson Bowen. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bowen is survived by two sons, Ronald Bowen, Austin, TX, Wesley Bowen Jr., Buellton, CA; four grandchildren, Austin, Jennifer, Jonathan, Isabella Bowen; a sister, Marianne (Dan) Nelson, West Seneca, NY; a brother-in-law, Jack Bridgeman, Varysburg, NY; and a sister-in-law, Nancy McConnell, Paris. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Bowen. A memorial service will be held later in New York.
