William Earl Bridges, 78, Dobbin Drive, retired master craftsman, U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II, widower of Virginia Stevens Bridges, died Monday, October 8, 2007 at the V.A. Medical Center. He was born October 19, 1928 in Montgomery County, son of the late William Zadock and Lucy Bowles Bridges. Mr. Bridges is survived by three sons, James E. (Carrie) Bridges, Paris, William D. Bridges, Nicholas County, Donald R. Bridges, Paris; a son-in-law, Emery Bryant, Bourbon County; six grandchildren, Ginger (Matt) Hornbeck, Paris, Cindy (Tom) McKenzie, Richmond. Carolyn (Gary) Childress, Millersburg, Mandy (W.T.) Margolen, Paris, William (Trish) Bridges, Jr., Nicholas County, Natalie (Kevin) Metcalfe, Lexington; 20 great grandchildren; one great, great grandson; three sisters, Maggie Jane Rose, Winchester, Virgie Mae Snapp, Clark County, Lula Belle Holman, Winchester; a brother, Wilmot Ray "Pete" Bridges, Austin, TX; a sister-in-law, Nancy (Roy) Drake, Winchester; and a brother-in-law, Clifford (Lillie) Stevens, Lebanon, OH. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine B. Bryant; and a great grandson, J.C. Doyle. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Bro. Dennis Peace with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Billy Bridges, Jr., W.T. Margolen, Tom McKenzie, Matt Hornbeck, Keith Schuler, and Bobby Stevens. Honorary bearers will be S.C. Graves, Dennie Ritchie, and Chuck Perry. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to the Bourbon County Relay for Life, c/o Elaine Deutch, Kentucky Bank, P.O. Box 157, Paris, KY 40362.
