William E. "Pete" Peters, Jr., 56, Main St, retired Paris Fire Dept Captain after 23 years of service, husband of Susan Heiderich Peters, died Saturday, September 6, 2009 at the St. Joseph Hospital. He was born September 23, 1952 in Paris, son of William E. and Sue Jane Lykins Peters, Paris, a 1970 graduate of Paris High School, and was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also survived by four daughters, Laura (J.R.) Stoy, Petersburg, VA, Rhonda Peters, Herald, KY, Carolyn Peters, Cynthiana, Whitney Peters, Paris; a granddaughter, Emily Grace Stoy; a brother, Bryan (Lynn) Peters, Paris; sister-in-law, Pat Minor; and close friends, George Bills and Bill Worthington. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation by Rev. John Curtis with burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Andy Roe, Jamie Fomas, Jeff McFarland, Jim Leigh, Rick Covington, Charlie Humphrey, Heather Profitt, Mike McClanahan, Jeff Kitchen, and Mike Duffy. Honorary bearers will be George Bills, Bill Worthington, Dr. Scott Pierce, Dr. Murray West, Pat Ameche, members of the Ice Pack Car Club, and members of the Paris Fire Department. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
