William E. "Sammy" Roberson, 71, a retired building contractor, widower of Mary Wyatt Roberson, died Sunday, January 04, 2015, at Saint Joseph Hospital. He was born May 8, 1943 in Sumter, South Carolina and was a member of Clintonville Christian Church. Sammy is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Pete) King, Sandee (Pat) Collis; two sons, Dennis (Rachel) Roberson, Ronald Roberson, all of Bourbon County; nine grandchildren, Samantha King, Matthew King, Jonathan King, Jeremy King, Alli Collis, Tyler Collis, Mackenzie Collis, Chance Roberson, Carter Roberson; a great grandson, Braxton Riddle King; special friend, Wanda Sullivan, four brothers, Richard Spencer, Ray Roberson, Larry Roberson, Jerry Roberson; five sisters, Brenda Depp, Nancy McKinney, Helen Thacker, Linda Thierfelder, Tonya Grooms; and a sister-in-law, Frances Sturgeon. He was preceded in death by his parents, James K. and Angie Spencer, Bill and Mary Roberson; a son James Dale Roberson; and a brother, David Roberson. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, at the Clintonville Christian Church by Rev. Charles H. Kemp with burial in Clintonville Cemetery. His grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Bob Redmon, Tommy Massie, Billy Callaway, Trae Soper, and Jimmy Rhodus. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Hinton-Turner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
