Wilma Jean Cooke Link, 69, Lexington, a retired nurse practitioner, widow of Robert Link, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the St. Joseph Hospital. She was born December 30, 1938 in Harrison County, daughter of the late Roy and Kathryn Brunker Cooke, a graduate of Harrison County High School, Good Samaritan Nursing School, received her nurse practitioner degree from Eastern Kentucky University, and was a member of Indian Creek Christian Church and the American Nursing Association. Jean is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Link (Harry) Hatter, Paris, Kathie Rene Lootens, Winchester; two grandchildren, Kelsey Grace and Jack Thomas Lootens; two brothers, Charles Cooke, Erlanger, Ralph (Pat) Cooke, Palm Springs, CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Jack Cooke. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Missy Cheeseman with interment in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Bob Wilson, Bob Thompson, Harry Hatter, Walter Link, Garnett Link, and Jimmy Link. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lexington Humane Society.
