Obituary

Virginia Mae “Ginny” Purcell Gray, wife of Larry D. Gray, departed this life on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at her home, with family at her side, having attained the age of 59 years. She was born on January 3, 1961, in Maysville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clifton C. “Tom” and Wilma Marie Williamson Purcell, was a 1979 graduate of Paris High School, a seamstress at Kentucky Textiles, and had worked at SEKRI. Besides her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by a sister, Sherri Leggett, and a brother, James Purcell.

In addition to her husband Larry, she is survived by their sons, Bobby (Kara) Gray, Thomas (Meghan) Gray; a daughter, Pamela Marie Gray; grandchildren, Boone Gray, Louisa Gray, Lily Gray, Audrey Gray, Daisy Gray, Kasen Gray, Grayson Nickels, and Addyson Nickels. Also surviving is a brother, Cliff (Susan) Purcell; sisters, Teresa Abner, Alice Amburgey; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Virginia Mae “Ginny” Purcell Gray, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2020, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Paris Cemetery, with casket bearers being Bobby Gray, Thomas Gray, Cliff Purcell, John Abner, Rocky Amburgey, Grayson Nickels, John McCarty, and Jeff Lawrence. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., prior to the service. www.hintonturner.com

I'm in complete shock seeing this. Ginny was a wonderful and caring coworker I know all the girls at S.e.k.r.i are gonna be lost without her. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Ginny will be missed by many.
